Obesity (The Common Problem)

Several of the adolescents suffer from obesity. Simply put it can be explained as unusual fatness. It is not a serious ailment in itself but if left unchecked and not treated timely it can lead to several serious ailments that may have an adverse affect on the overall health. It has numerous causes of occurrence, but is treatable.

Amongst the chief cause of its existence, the hereditary factor stands out. The genes have an overall influence on the metabolism rate and the hormones, which in turn are chief contributors to this cursed malady. Studies have shown that a standard weighing kid belonging to an obese family is more likely to become obese in the future as compared to a standard weighing kid from a normal weight family.

This owes to the slow metabolic rate in the former that is inherited from the parents/relatives. Other than that the eating habits of the entire household and their activities have an affect on the kid's overall diet and weight. So an obese youngster is more likely to turn into an obese grown person owing to the initial family influence. There are numerous other causes too that contribute to it such as excessive eating and high intake of fat and sugar rich substances to name a few.

The treatment is aimed at controlling it and maintaining a healthy body weight. Many times the amount of weight loss required for the continuance of a healthy life is fewer than the anticipated weight loss. On the average for the achievement of this purpose a modification in the initial diet is required in addition to amplified movements. Depending on the advancement of this condition the medical practitioner can also recommend respective medication or present you with surgery options in addition to the individual's attempts.
